Importing Records from CSV

The Shopranos admin can create many records at once from a CSV file. Open a saved table, go to the
Data tab and select Import. The Import CSV dialog takes you through three steps: choose a
file, map its columns, then review and import.

The importer only creates records. It never updates or deletes existing ones.

The first row is the header. Header names must be unique and not blank.

Every row must have the same number of columns as the header.

Quoted values may contain separators, escaped quotes ("") and line breaks.

Mapping columns

Under Column mapping, each CSV column is mapped to one target:

a field of the table. Columns whose header exactly matches a field name are mapped for you.

Link → {type} for product, brand, category or collection, or Link → other type… for a
custom link type.

Skip column for anything you do not want to import.

Every required field must be mapped, and each field can be mapped only once.

How values are converted

Field type	Accepted values
Text	Imported as written, including leading zeros.
Number	`.` as the decimal point, for example `12.5`. Scientific notation (`1e3`) is accepted. Values too large to store exactly are rejected.
Yes / No	`true` / `false` (any case), or `1` / `0`.
Date & time	`YYYY-MM-DD`, or a date and time with seconds (up to 3 decimals allowed) and `Z` or an offset, for example `2026-02-28T23:00:00+02:00`. Converted to UTC; a date on its own means midnight UTC.

An empty cell in an optional field is left out of the record. An empty cell in a required field marks
the row as invalid.

Link columns

One cell can hold several ids separated by |, for example id-1|id-2.

Several columns can feed the same link type.

Duplicate links are stored once, and the 50-links-per-record limit applies.

Preview and import

Preview and validation checks every row before anything is sent. Row numbers match the file:
the header is row 1, so the first record is row 2, and a value spanning several lines still counts
as one row.

Select Import valid rows to send the valid rows, in batches of up to 100. Invalid rows are never
sent. Each row ends with one of these statuses:

Status	Meaning
Ready	Valid, not sent yet.
Invalid	Failed validation and was not sent. The row shows why.
Created	The record was created.
Already imported	A retry found the record already created.
Rejected	The platform refused the row, for example because it exceeds the 64 KB record limit.
Unconfirmed	The outcome is unknown, typically after a network error.

Retrying and starting again

Invalid and Rejected rows can be corrected in the dialog and sent again with
Retry unresolved rows.

Confirmed rows are never sent twice. An Unconfirmed row is first resent with its original
values, because a lost response does not prove nothing was saved; if it was, it shows as
Already imported. Only then can it be edited.

Download results CSV saves the outcome of every row. Show unresolved rows /
Show all rows switch the view.

Closing the dialog keeps the import session. Refreshing or leaving the page loses it.

New import starts over. It does not remove records already created, so importing the same file
again creates duplicates. Download the results first.

Tips

Export the CSV from a spreadsheet as UTF-8, and check the separator.

Keep a stable code column, such as code or sku, so duplicates are easy to spot later.

Try a few rows first, check them in the Data tab, then import the rest.
